A Little South of Hollywood

In addition to Hollywood, I sometimes enjoy a walk into other parts of Los Angeles and Saturday the 8th, I was able to visit La Española Meats in Harbor City. The factory or butcher shop is located in a somewhat industrial part of Harbor City, but the shop was jumping with people last Saturday.

The occasion was a sampling of Spain's popular brand of jamon de jabuego de piedra negra, Cinco Jotas. This is a dry cured and mountain air aged ham of exceptional sweetness. I tasted slice after slice and it's delicious. Pricey, yes, yet delicious.

I purchased a 40 cm paellera, a pound of Bomba rice and some chorizo with smoked paprika.
