The Gold Line (a bling for the not so blingy)
I confess I like the train or subway, which in this case is the Los Angeles Metro. Oh duhhh, I must qualify that sentence. I like the Gold Line. It's clean, it goes from downtown LA to Sierra Madre (where was filmed Invasion of the Body Snatchers). The cars are clean, the trip is overground and along the way you get to see Chinatown, South Pasadena, and Pasadena. The Green Line is OK, but only goes to LA's airport and the beach cities, the Red Line, runs only underground from downtown to North Hollywood, although it does stop in Hollywood and at Universal Studios in North Hollywood. The real benefit of the subway is going from Hollywood to downtown in 15 minutes. That's a 30 minute drive in rush hour.
